Thanks to Fenwick High School student Jack Williams, 10 members of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boys & Girls Club participated in a great introduction to golf on Thursday, September 27th at the Fresh Meadow Golf Club in Hillside. Williams and his coach Jay Miller greeted the members and introduced them to the golf course. The members, all of whom had never been to a golf course, learned the basics of golf: including how to grip the golf club, the desired posture when playing, proper alignment and ball position, and various ways to swing the golf club. The golf instructors made golf interesting and fun for these members, exposing them to a new activity with rules and practices that are valuable to posess both on and off the green. Following the lesson, Williams generously arranged dinner for the members from Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches. King Club members Olajuwan and Quintell, both 11, said, "We can’t wait to play golf again!"
